You Have The Right To Review Your Criminal Record
You have the right to have a copy of your criminal record, if you so wish. You may want to see this to review accuracy and completeness of it. In order to get a copy, you will need to pay a $25 processing fee to the Department of Justice. You will also need to submit a fingerprint paper and possibly other forms.
Once you receive your record, you can scan it over and if you notice something on there that is wrong, you will definitely want to get this cleared up! You would need to complete a “Claim of Alleged Inaccuracy or Incompleteness” form. Don’t forget to include any proof you can provide to help support your case that this mark on your criminal record is not supposed to be there.
Remember, some groups like employers and banks can access your criminal record if they request it. Naturally, you want yours to read as nicely for you as possible.
